In the Twitter Files, Matt Taibbi published internal correspondence showing that in November 2020 the office of Rep. Adam Schiff contacted Twitter about “alleged harassment from QAnon conspiracists” against committee staff, including aide Sean Misko. Fox News quoted the request: “Remove any and all content about Mr. Misko and other Committee staff from its service — to include quotes, retweets, and reactions to that content.” The same ask named accounts to suspend, “including @GregRubini and @paulsperry.” Fox: Twitter’s replies included “we don’t do this.” Taibbi noted Sperry was later suspended. Fox wrote that Schiff’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The Epoch Times, citing the same files, reported that Twitter also refused requests to suppress “any and all search results about Mr. Misko and other Committee staff,” and that Misko served on HPSCI under Schiff from July 2019 until September 2022. A later Fox installment said Schiff staffers asked “quite often,” including for “complete suppress[ion of] any and all search results about Mr. Misko,” which Twitter called not “conceivable.” The Post Millennial and Jonathan Turley wrote recaps. The documented fact on this page is the ask and Twitter’s refusal, as those reporters published the emails. It is not a finding that Misko himself wrote the letter, and it is not a crime charged against him.
